We are overjoyed to announce our upcoming production, The Drowsy Chaperone, a hilarious “musical inside a comedy.” This delightful send-up of a typical 1920s musical revels alongside a celebrity bride and her zany cohorts who dance, drink, sing, seduce, snooze and roller-skate their way through her uproarious wedding day.

With the houselights down, the narrator puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a
fictitious 1928 musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. As the record starts, the musical comes to life in his apartment allowing him to poke fun at all the tropes that characterize genre in this witty play-within-a-play.

The Drowsy Chaperone is the winner of five 2006 Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards. The musical was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It won five Tonys including Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical.
